At Poool, we take your privacy, your data protection rights and the security of your information seriously. As we are located in the European Union, your data is protected by EU privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), one of the strongest privacy laws in the world.
In accordance with the GDPR, without your explicit consent, Poool does not collect, retain or share any data, including IP addresses, unique user identifiers, or personally identifiable information obtained on our website or sub-domains, as well as on the sites of our partners with which we are connected.
This Privacy Policy explains who we are, what we collect, how we collect, share and use personal data about you, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.

Who is Poool?
Poool is the agentic subscription growth platform for publishers: publishers use it to build and run their paywall and reader journey on their websites and apps.
The data controller for the website is POOOL, a French simplified joint-stock company registered with the Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register under number 819 554 890, whose registered office is located at 2 Rue Marc Sangnier, 33130 Bègles, France.
What information do we collect?

We may also collect information about you when you request a demo or fill in a form on our website, register to use one of our products or when you explicitly provide contact information. The information you will have to provide may include your name, your email address, your job position and your company or publication, and the details you choose to share in the form (for example, the reader journey you want us to review).
We can use this information to communicate directly with you, including by sending you newsletters or information about our products and services.
Information we collect through our product
The Poool paywall service (and specifically the domains assets.poool.fr and api.poool.fr) does not collect, retain, or share data regarding a particular Customer End User’s activity across multiple websites or applications that are not owned by Poool. Poool does assign each user a unique user ID within the scope of an individual website, but does not collect or retain IP or any information except information users volunteer (for example, an email) which would allow Poool to identify the same particular user on more than one website. Furthermore, nothing in this policy contradicts the following statement: Poool does not collect, retain or share any data regarding a particular user or device (including IP addresses and user identifiers) on sites or apps not owned by Poool.
How do we use the information we collect?
We use your information in order to:
- Provide, maintain and improve our products and services (for example, by remembering you have access to premium articles on a publisher website during 30 days);
- Control unauthorized use or abuse of our products and services;
- Analyze trends on how users use our product;
- Provide efficient products for our clients.
We do not share or transfer your personal information to third parties, other than the service providers listed below, who process it on our behalf, unless it is required for legal or regulatory purposes, to respond to a court order or request from law enforcement or other public authority, or in order to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
Your data will be accessed by our authorized personnel only.
We may share aggregated or anonymized information for other purposes. In that case, the information we have does not identify you individually, but may include usage, viewing and technical information such as performance metrics related to the use of our product which we collected through our technology.

Transfers outside the European Union
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Zapier, HubSpot and Google are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred to certified companies.
How long do we retain the information we collect?
We will retain data only for the duration strictly necessary for the fulfilment of the above purposes, subject to compliance with Poool’s legal and regulatory obligations.
How do we protect the information we collect?
Taking into account the evolution of technologies, the costs of implementation, the nature of the information to be protected as well as the risks to the rights and freedoms of individuals, Poool implements appropriate technical and organisational measures in order to guarantee the confidentiality of the personal data collected and processed and a level of security appropriate to the risk, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

You can exercise your rights at any moment by contacting our data protection officer, in order to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify your personal data
- Delete your personal data
- Exercise your personal data portability rights
- Exercise any other right given by the GDPR
From our side, we commit to:
- Asking for your consent to collect your personal data
- Collecting only required data and for a required duration
- Technically protecting personal data at best, subject to our own constraints
- Informing you of any theft attempt on data
